Abstract

Despite the key role played by Music in television series, its specific study does not have a methodological approach and an academic corpus equivalent to those of Film Music Studies. Facing such an important disciplinary lack, this paper presents a specific and exhaustive method of analysis on the use of musical discourse in television series. To verify its effectiveness, the case of the BBC series Doctor Who is chosen as the object of analysis.
